Loud noise when moving from side to side (X axis)

Hi all,

After some prints the printer started doing quite loud noise when moving in X axis direction. It seems that longer the head moves in the same direction, the louder the sound is. If I hear it correctly the source seems to be area around the tension screw on the right side of the printer.

Any suggestion how to get rid of this sound? Should I lubricate something or replace?

Hi! Did you buy the printer as a kit or an upgrade kit? If so, you almost certainly didn't grease the linear bearings. It's not mentioned in the assembly instructions, but it is on the bearing manufacturer's website. I have the same problem. If I apply slight pressure to the bearings while printing, the noise disappears.

To explain:

The bearings are coated with a corrosion-inhibiting oil upon delivery, which should be removed. After a while, this oil leaks out on its own, and the bearings develop some play.

The noise is caused by various resonances.
