Heat bed pins discolored

Hi,

I'm in the process of assembling my C1 printer, and the GND pin on the heat bed is discolored. I'm wondering if this is cause for concern? I'm a newbie to all this so I want to be extra cautious with everything.

Thanks!

RE:

Is this a MK4S upgrade kit, or a stand-alone kit? If the former, it looks like the head bed might have been used at some point.

my money is on an upgrade. It looks like friction due to a not-too-tight nut that scraped at the plating. If is is a new kit... call support.

That looks to me like a smudge of tin which sits on top of the pad surface, not material missing from the surface. You can check with Prusa support, but my bet is that they will essentially say "It will conduct electricity just fine" and advise you to continue with the build.

Looks like solder, Id bet the mask lifted in that corner when they were screening the solder paste on for the other components.  Personally if I had that bed I wouldn't be worried.
