Gaps between solid infill lines
My Core One+ (self-assembled) has only recently started printing solid infills with gaps between the lines. I have been using it for more than a year (started out as a Core One, then upgraded when Core One+ was released), and it has been problem-free, up till now.
The bottom layer prints fine, but the problem appears in layer 2 onwards. The bottom layer solid infill lines are visible through the 2nd layer.
I was looking closely as it was printing, and it looked like every alternate line was being extruded on top of the line before it, so the lines are being "stacked" in pairs.
The bottom layer printed fine, it was smooth and there were no gaps.
RE: Gaps between solid infill lines
The filament I was using is Bambulab PLA Basic black, which I have successfully printed before.
I have tried the following:
- Checked and verified the extrusion multiplier setting in Prusaslicer by manually extruding 100mm of filament (via the console) and measuring the actual amount extruded.
- Checked and verified that the A/B motor grub screws are tightened
- Re-ran the extruder gearbox alignment
- Checked and adjusted the belt tensions
- Checked the nextruder idler tension and listened for any signs of filament skipping
- Swapped nozzles
- Played around with the printing temperature and speeds.
- Dried the filament.
But to no avail.
I even tried adjusting the flow rate to 120% midway through the second layer, but the gaps between the infill lines still persisted and I could still see the bottom infill through the 2nd layer, even with the obvious overextrusion.
Has anyone encountered this issue before? I've been 3D printing for more than 5 years, but I've never come across something like this.
I've attached my printer config file here, in case anyone wants to take a look.
Cheers, Andrew
