Filament loading issues, under-extrusion and prints failing.

Hello!

Managed to assemble the Core One+ kit yesterday, but I am having some issues with filament.

First no filament would reach the nozzle, noticed that the filament pushes the idler open and is not seated properly:

Managed to load the filament by keeping some pressure on the idler, but the print failed halfway through (seems to be severely under-extruded):

The idler "door" is also extremely loose and does not seem to stay in the closed position. How should the idler function, could the set screw be too loose?

I have checked that the spring-loaded tensioner screws are flush with the plastic so that should be OK, the filament is grabbed but not properly channeled to the nozzle. Self-check passed successfully and belt tensioning seems to be fine as well.

Any other ideas what could be causing the severe filament issues? My second print was slightly better but similarly failed midway, could the filament slip from the gears or something like that?

Thanks for any help in advance!

The idler bogie lever is held shut (locked in place) by the idler nut. The only way it can be pushed open is that was not properly latched. Could you take a photo like this?

RE:

Congratulations !  You have your machine assembled and almost working !!!

Does the Idler Swivel Lock and hold the Idler arm in place?
Link to the Idler-Swivel assembly step.

Your Nextruder Idler (assembled here) is loose !  Lift it up into place, then lower the Idler Swivel Lock down to lock the Idler into place !!!

Note: We only need to lift the Idler Swivel Lock when we want to lower the Idler so we can inspect the Nextruder Gear. In operation, the Idler Swivel Lock needs to be locked down on the idler.

If that does not fix your problem, then look at the previous post on adjusting the Idler Nut and Idler Tensioners.
