Filament jammed on spool

Hi. I set off a print job and left the printer to go at it. About half way in I realized the filament had got jammed on the spool (free end was under a loop), and it was pulled pretty tight. The head on the printer was stationary at one corner, and probably had been for over 30mins--I had notification to the app the printer needed attention. I did unload filament and it came out successfully. I re-loaded and did a new print job and it seemed to turn out fine, no obvious degradation in print quality.

Should I check anything in the extruder or head? Is it possible the gears or motor got over-strained? I imagine this kind of thing happens, but am concerned what partial damage might have occurred.

Thanks for any feedback.

RE: Filament jammed on spool

I've had this happen several times with poorly wound spools. In my case it didn't cause any damage. I'm sure you're fine since it seems you have the stuck filament detection turned on.
