Easiest way to detach the Nextruder from its holder?

I need to remove the Nextruder from its holder so that I can adjust the belts in the holder.  Has anyone figured out what the minimum steps are to detach the Nextruder?

I know I need to remove the two screws from the heater fan, and the three screws underneath it that hold the Nextruder to the holder.  But the Nextruder still won't come off, and I can't quite figure out from the assembly instructions what could be holding it in place.

Well, it turns out the easiest way is to just unscrew everything.

Don't like that answer. Not one bit... as I sit here and dissassemble my whole nextruder because one of my belts came loose...

I had to do the same thing yesterday, i.e. one of my belts slipped and it was causing problems with maintaining belt tension. To get to the belt carriage, you don't have to disassemble the whole nextruder, just remove the nextruder assembly and you can get at it. I remember seeing specific instructions from Prusa on checking the belt carriage but at the moment can't find it.

I managed to figure it out on my own (this is what I remember):

  • disconnect the nextruder cables going into the love board
  • remove the heat block assembly
  • remove the heatsink fan
  • unscrew and remove the fan shroud and blower
  • remove the 3 screws holding the heatsink onto the belt carriage
  • remove the PTFE tube from the coupler
  • while holding the nextruder, unscrew the PTFE coupler.
  • pull away the nextruder
  • release both left and right belt tension pulleys
  • remove screws holding the belt carriage onto the linear rail
  • adjust the belts so each left and right have the same number of teeth sticking out
