RE: Benchy Benchmark
I'm going to guess that this is PLA maybe? Which filament and manufacturer would be helpful.
I wouldn't mess with the idler screws. If anything, it looks under-extruded.
Would be helpful to attach a zipped 3MF file.
RE: Benchy Benchmark
Anyway, your Benchy looks fine
RE: Benchy Benchmark
Sorry, what I meant to say was: "Anyway, your Benchy looks under-extruded"
RE: Benchy Benchmark
thx for your reply. I used the default benchy from the usb Stick. My filament is from ESun. It was pretty fine with my old MK3S.
but it‘s a very good hint that too less filament come out.
I would rate that print as good enough for the first month.
Every user builds their printer slightly differently and pre-built models are shaken up in transit so during the first few weeks of use the printer will run-in and settle its parts together; then you will have to go over the basic maintenance checks, lubricate and recalibrate. Even if you got everything dialled in perfectly today, it would all need re-doing.
Better to settle, temporarily, for a basic working printer and get some useful printing done, make your early mistakes, establish a routine and generally get used to the process. Then when you do your one month service you can take extra care knowing the new settings on your now stable printer are likely to last for several months.
Cheerio,
RE: Benchy Benchmark
XY positioning looks very good -- no need to mess with belt tension, gantry alignment, input shaper etc. I think.
As @hyiger wrote, the top layers look like they did not get quite enough filament. Did you print the pre-sliced Benchy from the USB stick? If so, was the filament you used in line with what the pre-sliced model assumes (Prusament PLA)? Maybe repeat the test print with a matching filament, or load the STL into PrusaSlicer and choose the right filament type for the material you have on hand.
