Belt Tensioning Issue, Using PF Makes Meter and Prusa App

Hey guys, I have been running into quite a few issues with layer separation and I think its due to the tensioning of the belts. I have tried to use the app but find the readings to be unreliable and not repeatable. I recently picked up a PF Makes Meter to help with the tension setting.  And set it to be 1.9 and then tried 2.5, when in the manual it was specified to have a minimum of 1.8, and 2.5  for prusa mk4 hoping that would work for the core one. That was not the case, as I am still having issues with layer separation.

See Link Here: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/english-forum-original-prusa-i3-mk4-assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting/belt-tension-gauge-for-prusa/

Github for Tool; https://github.com/Diyshift/3D-Printer/blob/main/GT2%20Belt%20Tension%20Meter/Manual/GT2_Tensiometer_Manual.pdf

Anyone successfully tension their belt? Or know the best way that worked for them? 🙂

RE: Belt Tensioning Issue, Using PF Makes Meter and Prusa App

I've been struggling with this for two days. Sometimes can't even get the x and /or y axis tests to pass. Then when I do the layers aren't lined up. I've tensioned to the recommended 85hz with good alignment on the front.

Frankly I think this printer is trash and needs to be sent back to the manufacturer. The tensioning instructions DO NOT WORK. trying to chat with support over real time chat is miserable experience. They should take the kit off the market until they sort out the issues.

RE:

If you have PETG and can print, please try prusa's tension-meter-for-the-gt2-belts. I find this way more practical than the belt-tuner.

Without belt tension: If the gantry does not touch both ends at the same time, please search in this forum how to correct it before tensioning.

In case you can not print at all, try a litle lower tension first.

Hello!I ordered my Core One conversion kit on the first day, it was delivered relatively quickly, sometime in early May.I built the new printer, it passed all the tests at first, at first there was a small hammering in the right front corner, I adjusted the belt settings a little, the hammering stopped.Printing started fine for two weeks, then it thought for a moment and started hammering the right front corner again for 2-3 minutes. Re-tensioning the belts, running tests, recalibrating, the hammering stopped.Everything was fine again for two weeks, now it started again, I tried everything, 5-6 hours of trying with support, no results, it refuses to start properly, it writes different error messages every time it starts. I'm fed up with it, I've never had such a crappy printer before. I want to send it back to Prusa, they haven't been able to tell me how it's going for three days, they don't know how much money they're willing to refund, and the best part is that they're not willing to take back either the camera or the accelerometer, along with the four printer plates. So I have a room decoration, a useless printer. It's all a joke, I'm thinking of suing them in a European Union court.I've read similar posts on several forums, some are already working on forming a lawsuit.
