Bed Levelling Failure

I just upgraded my MK4S to a CoreOne and I had three or four successful prints.  Now I am getting a Bed Levelling Failed error and have retested the load cell and all ok there.  Where do I look next??

Are you consistently getting a bed leveling failure or is it intermittent? One piece of advice I received from another member is to check under the sheet for debris on the heat bed. I also have only seen this on a textured sheet. If you have another, swap it out and see if it goes away. If you are consistently getting errors, I would suggest hopping onto the support chat to get advice on what to do next.

Before you contact support, re-run the Z-axis calibration.  If you put pressure (even gravity alone can do it) on the print bed while the z-axis motors are disabled you will push the print bed out of level to the point where mesh bed leveling cannot compensate.  I learned very quickly to not touch the build plate when the printer is off (or if the z-axis motors have been disabled).  The printer can make some very interesting noises if the bed is far enough out of level!

Steve

Steve reading your comment I had a "lightbulb going on" moment!! That's why I did find twice my bad skewed (and indeed it makes horrible noises when the printer sets it straight at the bottom), I didn't associate it with some work I did inside the cabinet and for sure applied pressure in that corner!

Thanks for your help, just wanted to close this out and say that was what it was was just recalibrated it. I forgot that in between the last time I printed, and the one when I got the error I had actually moved the machine and turned it off. I just assumed it would pick right back up where it took off but now I know. Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it

I am glad to help and also happy that it wasn't more serious.

RE: Bed Levelling Failure

In my case, the z-axis calibration / bed leveling probably failed because the cable underneath the bed inhibited a full downward movement during z-axis calibration.

To solve this: move the bed down, almost to the bottom, but leaving just enough room for your hand to move the cable to the back as much as possible and upward in the smaal space between bed and back panel. Then perform the z-axis calibration. The cable will not be inhibiting the downward movement during calibration.
