Printer changes temperature to 170°C

Hello everyone!

I am pretty new to 3D-Printing. I build my printer last weekend - a Prusa Core One - and currently am testing printing, settings and Prusa Connect.

I use PETG that is stated to be set to 230°C (the filament reel states, that it is supposed to be printed at 250°C). However when I set the temperature to 230°C in Prusa Connect or at the printer itself, it always changes back to 170°C/130°C. After resetting it to 230°C, before it starts printing, it stays at 230°C. Until now, I couldn't find any other thread in the forum and in the manual how to approach this issue. Any clues what I am doing wrong, or is this a firmware/sorftware issue?

RE: Printer changes temperature to 170°C

Good morning Klaus.

I believe what is happening, is that the printer is trying to do a two stage warm up, where the printer heats to 170C, then it does mesh bed levelling with the hope that the lower nozzle temperature will reduce 'spotting' (depositing a tiny blob of filament at each sense point for mesh bed levelling',
then once mesh bed levelling is complete, the nozzle will heat fully to the programmed temperature. the printer will then continue as normal.

you are bypassing this process

Hello JoanTabb,

thank you for your reply. You are right. With a little bit more patience it does change to the needed temperature.

Regards,

Klaus
