It actually looks very nice.

Had I not gone with the 3d Upfitters enclosure a couple of years ago I would be in the market for this one.

But the Blog post says "The enclosure is, of course, delivered in a disassembled state, so you don’t have to worry about receiving a massive box. 🙂 As usual, the assembly is quick and easy, so your printer will have a cozy new home in no time. "

Looks awesome, but too pricey.  I agree that the IKEA Lack enclosure 'system' is very good.  I would have loved if Prusa rather released some improvements to the Lack design to make it even better!  I do see how Prusa is likely responding to institutional and business customers, and they will likely do well with it.  I wish them success!

Not to mention, $58 shipped to me in US!!  Now it is over $400 starting....eek.

I try to give answers to the best of my ability, but I am not a 3D printing pro by any means, and anything you do you do at your own risk. BTW: I have no food for…

RE: Announcing the Original Prusa Enclosure

I wish I heard about this a couple months ago. I’m in the middle of building an enclosure and while it is no means perfect and I’m learning and modifying as I go..so far it has cost me .

$150 (CDN)  for plywood

$180 for acrylic  (5mm)

$20 for brush-on sealer

$20 hinges

$50 for blower fan

$40 3m filters

$35 led lights (I had leftover diffuser track otherwise it would have cost $$ extra as that is overly expensive)

$25 xt60h connectors (to move psu)

and lots of $$ for all the other little things like screws, glue, feet, filament to print other needed parts, etc

It’s taking a lot of time and effort to put together (which I’m enjoying and learning lots) but I still would have preferred to buy the Prusa version

I think the Prusa version is well priced and glad that finally we are seeing more premade enclosures available.

Thanks for the compliment. I’m making it up as I go and modifying my modifications every time I read another post about how to build an enclosure and add filters and psu relocation etc.  I have learned alot of things from the incredibly bright people on this forum but I have a busy life so buying the newly announced one would have saved me a ton of time
