About Me
The Joint Lab, in the College of Engineering at UTEP, focuses on applying engineering and biomechanical principles to understand and prevent human joint injuries and degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis. We combine experimental and computational approaches to further our understanding of joint biomechanics during highly-dynamic daily activities as well as injury situations.
In addition, the Lab established a strong collaboration with LIMBS International to develop and test low-cost highly-functional prosthetic solutions for the developing world.
We are using the Prusai3 Mk3 for research purposes and we are trying to reach high ambient temperatures of 250°C. We are doing this, so we can adequately print with PEEK and we are constantly modifying our printer to get better results on our prints.
