Odd failure; failed to complete print, says 100% complete. (not true)

I started a print as usual.  Preview in prusaconnect confirms that whole job is transferred (I see the whole object)

After some time I got the meaningless/non-informative "check the printer personally"  or similar message.
When I got to it, I saw the error that 30min of inactivity switched off heat (which is bad for adhesion)  - the print was maybe 50% done in terms of z-layers

On heating up, I was asked for filament type, I selected PETG again. (the filament was not out/stuck/or unloaded)
Then it purged, - and suddenly the job was happily completed with "100%" as if successful.
The print was trash.

What is going on? - I would suspect the runout sensor, but then there was no uloading, and why destroy the print by cooling it down? - and why not resume, only pretend to be 100% completed?
