I might be tempted to try bypassing the filament sensor and see if that helps. There is a thread on here somewhere about how to reduce the pressure of the sensors (it was causing issues with flexible filament) so don't know, if that heats up from the frame if the pressure increases due to metal expansion.
The other thing just to test is to try heating everything up but try removing the printer head end of the filament tube and just try a manual test pulling the filament in various combinations (no filament sensor, no large bend at the back of the printer, different filament reel bearings, moving the filament sensor down to reduce the bend at the back (you'll need to extend the wire/add extra extension connector - connectors stated somewhere on the forum again) to see what makes the difference. If you had a pressure sensor when pulling, you could even do it scientifically!
I'd be interested if the other tube made a difference too.

Ok so this morning I am trying this to do a test. I removed the stock tube which had developed a kink where the wire tie held it at the base. This kink probably didn't help.
I put a section between the sensor and the first orange tube holder. Then I just installed some 25mm sections in the rest of the holders. I want to see if this alleviates some of the friction to make the filiment easier to pull. I will also be able to see what the filiment does outside the original PTFE tubing.
I have some of the low friction tubing, and some 3mm id tubing on the way to try that.
If these attempts do not work I will start thinking having the filament enter through the top of the Enclosure.
A pic of the kink that was under the wire tie. Both Nextruders have this kink.
This is what I am trying this morning I am hoping the filament doesn't kink at the little sections.

I will say there is a lot of stress on the filament watching the XL print without the tubing. The head has to travel a good distance front to back and left to right. Especially on a large print or a full print bed with parts.
By watching the filament I can see how there would be binding inside the small ID PTFE. I would think 3mm ID tubing or the low friction tubing would solve the problem.

I like the Prusa design, but I have concerns about the longevity of the Accordion and it looks expensive.
It attaches to the frame at the top struts via magnets. It was quite flexible, so I wouldn't be too concerned about the longevity. From what I understood, top and bottom will be available separately. You could still buy the top part, and choose something with doors for the front.

That test did not work out!! So I reinstalled the original PTFE tube and keeping the temp between 42C-45C.
I am 2 hours into the same print that failed earlier and all is good so far.
ASA filament
Nozzle temp 250C
Bed temp 105C
Enclosure temp 42C-45C
This is definitely a heat issue between the PTFE tube and the filament. It's not the filament as I have been using this filament for all the testing. I have also tried different Nextruders. At least I know what the issue is.
Eventually I am going to figure out a way to feed the filament from the top. I have a few ideas

So with the original PTFE looks like you should stay at 42C -45C or your ASA filament will start to bind inside the original XL PTFE tube. Past the 4 hr mark of this 5hr and 54min print and all still looks good.
I had to lower the top front sliding panel about 70mm to keep the temp between 44C - 45C. The temp has been holding steady there for the last hour. Looks like a good quality ASA print so far.
You can see the front upper panel is lowered about 70mm to hold at 44C.
Print is looking good.

Here is a mockup of my top feed idea. I would have to move the filament sensor but I see no issue with that. Just a idea I did on cad while it was fresh on my mind. This one is for the 2 extruder machine. The filiment will ride on a series of 5 - 12mm V grooved rollers. Filament spools on the side will run through the filament sensor over the recessed grooved rollers then straight down to the Nextruders. Of course it will be removable via a printed slide in lock.

Interesting idea! I wonder if you'd still want ptfe tube unless you're planning to roll your asa filament back in every time you stop printing for a bit?
Do you think the filaments might interfere with each other or the cabling/clips, particularly if you have 5 print heads? Worth a go though.
Would it work to sit the filament on the top of your box at the front, with a smooth curve of ptfe tube from the front down to the first clip on the extruder. I don't think you'd get any tangling, clashes that way.
I guess it might be worth testing the ptfe tube upgrade first as that's probably the easiest/least disruptive option—though this option doesn't give you an excuse to print another part 😉

Yes I will definitely try the two different types of tubing. I ordered some 3mm id standard PTFE and some of the low friction tubing.
At least I have figured out the highest temperature for the enclosure using the stock XL tubing and filiment combination.
As far as the type of feeding the filament. I don't think there would be any interference between Nextruders. All the runs would be way shorter with the filament coming from the center of the top. Ido think I would do away with the PTFE tubing all together. I would make a type of cone style feed opening for the Nextruders to eliminate kinks. I would also do something similar at under the top where the filament comes through.
Here is the ASA print from today. It came out very good. This is the outside bottom part of the heater mount. I still have to print the top of mount, the inside part of the mount, and the gate. As long as I keep the enclosure temp between 42C -45C there are no issues.

I'm afraid I have to disagree. The XL is true multi-material. Bambu is just multicolor. I own both upper end Bambus. I do not own an AMS light, but I cannot imagine that is an improvement.
Take the idea from Bambu and come up with an AMS style feed from the side mounted rollers. The Bambu Lab AMS lite disassembled and around the XL would be ideal!

Don't think I will go that far. 😎😎 I am just trying to figure out the best way to print the higher temp warp prone filaments as consistently as possible.

Here is a pic of one of the fails due to filament binding. As I mentioned earlier this only happens with hi temp filament like ASA with enclosure temps 46C +. There is no issues with sub 46C prints of any filament.
I saved this print and you can see where the filament binding starts and it progressively gets worse till there is no filament flow. The printer will continue printing without filament flow.
