Ok, so your cost is around $300. What would you think an actual price that you can live with will be?

Posted by: @henry-9

Thank you!

The price will have to go up, once I get the 'initial customer feedback' in place ($300 is actually less than all my raw material cost, including $0 for all the labor! - that's a LOT of acrylic!), but I am curious if this 'sliding door' concept is too far out there and unconventional to be accepted.

Again - thanks for the feedback!

Henry

How do you figure that the one linked is less than $200?

I hope this response goes under  [EastMemphis] 's  >>What would you think an actual price that you can live with will be?

But I'm new to this forum, and I'm not sure I'm doing this right.  Excuse me if this response is going to the wrong place.

To answer the question: Well, the nearest US alternative is SUMO, which is $300 ($299) BUT you also have to print your own pieces (about 4 spools ($12o) and 48 hrs according to them), so that's $420 + your labor, no lights  and no 'convertible convenience', so I'm hoping that $499 w/b a fair market choice.  ($80 more than SUMO, but 'ready to assemble' the day you get it (2 hrs at most?), lights and unique 'full access when you want it' convenience). But that's why I am doing a 'loss leader' at $299.    So I'm looking to see what buyers  and feedback I get at $299

Maybe I should find a YouTuber to review it???

Personally (and I'm obviously biased), I Love the I/C/E because I've had some problems with my Extruder mounts, the PTFE tube into the Extruder and similar things where I have found myself saying "How would I ever fix this if the printer were boxed inside of a regular enclosure, with only a 'front door' to get at it, from?" But maybe my need to 'get at' the print bed is unique?

Thanks!

PS Looking into finding 'off the shelf' black aluminum!

This does seem nice though I wonder the viability long term of the 3m command strips and the of course there is the issue of me living in Canada as it seems companies etc do not like shipping to here and if the do it makes the price insane. The Sumo won't deliver here. Canada is not a big enough market. Still two thumbs up on the design/idea.

Thanks.

The Command strips just keep the rails from sliding off.  There are edge clips that hold the rails to the XL frame otherwise. FedEx seems the best shipping option for us, surely FedEx delivers to Canada?  If you're interested in getting the $299 'beta tester' special, give me an address and I'll see how economically I can get it to you!

Thanks for the reply. i am @ 12704-158 Ave Edmonton, Alberta T6V 1A1. While I do not know how many beta testers you plan to utilize in your data collection. I do see a recommendation already for a You tube channel user. I do not have one and at the moment if you are in a rush for test results I may not be a great choice. Just got out from shoulder surgery on Monday. Thanks

So sorry about the shoulder surgery.  Rotator cuff?

Thanks!

As an engineer, I tiptoe into Sales/Marketing, so I am happy to include you on the list! Can you send me your email address, etc? You can fill in the form on the website (PrusaXLEnclosure.com), or email me directly  (Henry @ PanatechComputer.com).   We are currently in the process of implementing the packaging/shipping portion of this project, and looking to ship later in the month (March)

Oh, and to avoid lost information, I do need an email to 'log you in' to the list, rather than just a forum post.  Thanks.

Henry

PS. I don't think I saw the YouTube endorsement.  Can you tell me where I can find it?

i went in for a long head bicep tendon repair(cut the tendon and screw into the arm bone. they found a few other issues, rotator cuff hanging in by <5 %. Bone fragments and spurs etc. Of course on my dominant arm, go figure. The YouTube thing was in reference a few texts above re nero.
