XL Cannot print this... or can it?
I have been trying in vane to print the lid of this model

What ever I try I keep getting this error. This should be straight forward, but not so.
Can someone give it a try?

I already printed it. Have you sliced it your self for your specific printer?
What printer do you have? Can you upload your gcode?

I don't know what I'm doing wrong in the config. The printer is a dual head XL. I have attached a link to the model.

Seems like the printer thinks it's a single head

Yes, you are correct.
Even tried to set the printer as an XL with single extruder. Same error!

Could you attach your setup file for the XL for this print. Still struggling to print this.

In the 3mf it shows there are 4 colours being used so 4 toolheads. Thats probably why its not working as yours is only a dual head.
If you slice it you can see that it thinks its using black, white, grey and red.

missed your post. I don't have the original File anymore, but as already sad, as you have the two toolhead Version you can only use 2 toolheads. I attached how I would slice it, but depends on the exact PLA and so on.

The author printed this with a single extruder on his MK4. I have tried to set the XL to single extruder, same error. Using the "single extruder multi material" does not seem to work on the XL.
Basically how do you print 3 colors on the same layer with 2 extruders. If I could figure this out, I could solve the problem. I have submitted a ticket to PRUSA on this issue, with so successful resolution. It shouldn't be this complicated.

I can't test until my XL arrrives but there is provision in Prusa Slicer.
First set the number of (virtual) extruders required then select 'Single extruder multi material' - you may have to edit some of the 'Single extruder MM setup values' (in Printer > General) and perhaps tweak the gcode as in:

Done both of these things same error. If anyone has printed this in 3 colors with a single extruder XL, I would be very interested. Seem to be a flaw in the printer firmware.
