Purge block

Would it be possible to put a purge block between the printed object and the tools and only use it when the heads change? So move the z up to the height of the purge block. Or will it take to much time and save not much filament or prevent oozing issues.

Regards,

Arjan

I've used it with the MMU on the bedslinger but I haven't tried it on the XL yet; I assume it does the same thing. It doesn't necessarily have to be between the print and the tools. You just have to make sure the X-arm(?) doesn't knock anything over when it makes its up/down movements.

I dont think its quite as useful on the XL since the prime tower is already comparatively minimal. You're probably better off just shrinking your tower with its other settings. I guess if you have a print that is only multi at the top then it might help, but Z-movement is so slow you might be better off just wasting filament instead of time.
