Issues with PETG Supports for PLA prints
I am trying to print using PETG interface layers with a PLA print and am running into some issues so I thought I start a thread to see if there is a solution. My current issue is that the PETG is clumping up around the nozzle and that is preventing it from printing the support interface layer. I have checked the nozzle while the extruder is waiting in the docking station and did not notice any "oozing" occuring. I am printing the PETG at 260 C. I have attached photos of the print settings. I'm going to continue to try and work this out but if anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

RE: Issues with PETG Supports for PLA prints
Update:
I have had some success after making some changes to the settings in prusa slicer.
1.)Support and Interface layers set to print in petg. This means I'm not just printing the interface layers rather the entire support structure. Not what I wanted to do for this project but it did seem to help.
2.)Full calibration and tests on the xl.
3.)Prime all extruders setting set to on
4.)Set interface layers to 5. First print to successfully complete the job, interface layers was set to 2 and they were incomplete resulting in poor quality at the interface.
I am still have significant stringing and prints are inconsistent as some will either glob up on the petg nozzle or the petg supports will loosen from the plate. I am going to do a temp tower to figure out the best printing temps for my petg and have purchased a filament dryer which should arrive Monday.
RE: Issues with PETG Supports for PLA prints
Did you ever find a permanent fix to this? I'm having the exact same issue, only when using PETG supports with a PLA print. Otherwise that same PETG filament and nozzle print absolutely fine.
Really confused on why this only happens when using them as supports in this way...
RE: Issues with PETG Supports for PLA prints
I am still working on this. I have tuned the retraction and that helps. There are still some issues, unfortunately, that I am working on. I will likely be upgrading the ptfe tube to 6x4mm ptfe tube here in the future to solve a different but possibly related issue.
