How to Print 1 Layer Multicolor Pictures but not a Lithophane - Workflow Question

How can I print a Multicolor Image (Foto) with the Prusa XL-5 Head ?
In my specific case I tried to print a Black white Picture (converted from Color) into a 2d Print with 5 Greyscales  (White -silver- light grey - dark grey- black ).

I used "https://imagetostl.com/" to convert the Picture into a STL File. However this only generates a Lithophane and not a 2d Image.

Thats why I inverted the greyscale (black beeing the thinnest and white has tallest) and then used a different Extruder for different height in the slicer.

This generated an image which looks all right from a distance, but I wanted to generate a 2D Image (not strictly 1 layer may be 10 or 20) and not a Lithophan.

However to work with a slicer does limit the  kind of pictures I can generate and it is a manual process.
Is there an automated workflow to convert  Picture into an stl without it becoming a Lithophane ?

Or print it on adhesive label paper and stick it on.
