Blurred Text on First Layer
I'm using an XL printer with black PETG in Extruder 1 and yellow PETG in Extruder 2. When I print text in a different color on the first layer, I have trouble achieving good contrast (see image). I've tried adjusting the first layer height and the first layer extrusion width, but it doesn't seem to help.
What other settings are relevant that I can adjust?
The "NAVIGATOR" text is approximately 6.5 mm tall.
RE: Blurred Text on First Layer
- In what order do the colours print in the first layer? You get the best results if the text is printed first.
- Your first layer must be perfect, but that should be standard on an XL.
- Make sure your build plate is perfectly clean and your filament bone dry.
What nozzle size are you using? Specifically for these kind of projects I bought a 0.15 mm Revo nozzle, but a 0.25 mm is also acceptable. This is the result with the 0.15 mm on my MK3.5 without any tweaking. The letters are 6 mm tall, like yours.
About the colour smear, I don't know. That shouldn't happen when you have two separate nozzles. Just a blind guess: maybe lower the temperature? An XL owner would have to chime in on that. People can help you better if you attach the .3mf file of your project.
