the screen goes blank after booting
The XL 5 was working fine when I turned it off yesterday but today the screen goes blank after booting. I have only had this printer a few weeks and only started printing on it last week so Prusa printers & Prusa connect are all new to me.
After trying several times turning off then on with no success in keeping the LCD screen lit after booting I did unplug the printer for over 10 minutes ( a suggestion I saw online ). That didn't help.
I also disconnected the LCD screen from the frame and pushed on the connectors to make sure they were still good. Didn't help
Turning the knob does bring the printer out of idle and operates various functions even though I can't see what is happening.
I was able to start unload filament process from Prusa Connect then pulled the filament out once it had heated up.
So it seems the printer is working fine except the LCD screen after boot up.
In Prusa connect, this is the firmware version listed 6.2.5+8912 and Supported after that.
I have a lot of multimaterial models I need to print this week so I hope y'all can help me.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
RE: the screen goes blank after booting
I just brought my XL online yesterday, and today I am having the same issue. Seems to be a controller issue. We you able to resolve this? If so, how?
RE: the screen goes blank after booting
I assembled my Prusa XL 2 with enclosure last week.
I made all the calibrations --> ok.
I made also some prints --> all of the prints were perfect.
Serveral times I had the same problem with a blank screen after booting.
For information: I carried out the wiring between LCD and controller board very carefully. The cable is not clamped and not taut. The connectors on both side are correct fixed.
Until now I passed over the problem with multiple switch on or reset.
Do you have a solution?
Thanks and best regards
RE: the screen goes blank after booting
Same happened to me: assembled it last weekend, printed flawlessly for a couple of days, but then the screen started to glitch. I installed the wires with care, although it’s not easy… talked to support and Prusa is sending me a new screen 🤞
