Kernel panic while calibrating nozzles
I have a somewhat intermittent problem with the nozzle calibration routine. When running the test, the sheet-on touch works but the next step where the nozzle is supposed to contact the calibration pin the system reboots when the head gets ~3-5mm from the top of the pin. This happens about 75% of the time but the error after reboot implies that the pin is not installed and there is no other troubleshooting. On first assembly, once I got past this failure (by chance? Luck?) the rest of the nozzles checked out fine.
I swapped in new nozzles yesterday and decided a cal was a good idea. Again, it took three tries to get the OS to not crash and reboot, but the machine failed again at the 4 th nozzle. I gave up as I didn’t have another hour to babysit the random failure process. I’m not sure who to notify, nor whether there is any kernel dump info I can save or evaluate to find out what is failing.
RE: Kernel panic while calibrating nozzles
I had issues yesterday. They all resolved around blobs on the nozzles or being out of range. Making sure everything was clean, fixed some. Had to recalibrate the dock for head #5.
It generally crashes then shows the error on reboot. In my case X calibration was 1.1mm & the tolerance was +/-1mm. Once I got things sorted out & within that tolerance it made it through fine.
