How to Assign a fixed IP adress?
Good morning, I need to assign a fixed IP address to our Prusa XL-5T for LAN connection. I have not found a way so far. Does anyone know how to do this?
RE: How to Assign a fixed IP adress?
You can do that in your router. Look for the device there and then edit the entry for it. There should be an option to "always assign the same IP to this device" or something similar. You can also set a specific IP for the device there if you want that. Then save your edit and you should be fine.

okay thanks. then I'll ask our it-admin if he can do that. we do not use DHCP in the company. and as soon as I set the printer to static IP, he has of course no more. It's a bit weak that this "still" does not work as with the Prusa Mini+ via the config file.

Not all routers have this option. I can set my Prusa XL to use static instead of DHCP, but it never gets an IP address and the IP address field is disabled. Any suggestions.

Did you try the procedure described here?: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/how-to-set-a-static-ip-address_695648
Pay attention to the last sentence, as it describes the difference between ethernet and Wi-Fi.
