Display issues

Hi guys, i had some strange issues with display. It goes blank for a while, then refreshes. Than again.

See linked video. Display video.

Any ideas what could be wrong? After reset display is working fine for a while, than issues are there again.

RE: Display issues

This looks a little bit like a signal integrity topic ... have you tried to reseat your cable connectors ... also your cable might be pinched somewhere along the way. That would be the first thing to check ... Also is the display grounded properly on both sides. This might also result in some signal noise since the calble to the display is unshielded and running quite some distance parallel to the stepper motor cable ... But in your example the printer is not printing and the stepper should not create too much noise ... So I expect the first topic ... something with a connectors or the cable itself.

Any update on this?  After a couple hundred hours of use, my 2-tool XL is having a similar issue, see video link: XL_Display_Issue

After it 'warms up', [has been on for a couple of minutes] it becomes stable, at least for now.

RE: Display issues

I fixed this by pushing all the connectors from the LCD cable to the borads (they seemed fine, but weren't so).

RE: Display issues

Thanks DD

I re-seated the ribbon cable on the display end and it appears to be working [for now at least 🙂 ]

I will say it was definitely fully seated to start with.  I'm concerned there may have been some oxidation or some other cause of a poor connection there?  If it comes back, I'll add to this thread.
