XL with soluble support, with ABS or PLA
Hey all, I'm looking for anyone with practical experience with soluble support, PVA or other variants of PVA. I do not see anyone on YT with there experiences. This is one of the main reasons I decided to buy an XL-5. I just got the finish my order EM from Prusa. Since getting the EM I have been watching every review on the XL I can find to make sure im making the right decision in making the final payment. From what I see the positives outweigh the bad, im not supper stoked about doing lots of testing but all that seems to be getting better with Prusa updates.
My printing needs are for practical for real-world assembly design work for product development and design iteration. Most design iterations are 3D printed and then I go to CNC milling of alum parts. I have no need to print cute useless things, or mulicolor but will be a plus I guess. My interest and goal is printing PLA and eventually ABS, with soluble support and TPU . I am buying this printer to replace my old Dimension SST ES1200 printer which is a commercial-grade printer that cost 35K back in its day "I paid 15K in 2009" and used for 15+ years but it's time to retire it. Its a beast of a machine but way too expensive to run and if it breaks down now I its to expensive to repair. Anyone interested in buying can reach out to me. I run MK3 and MK3S+ Prusa's at my day job and LOVE them and is also another reason I want the XL, I figure its got to be as good as the MK3s and better!
Anyone with PVA or other types of support experience please chime in.
RE:
I‘ve successfully used verbatim bvoh with pla and greentec pro - no problems at all.
Next try will be fiberlogy fiberflex shore 30d and bvoh.
Only filament I was not able to load was Recreus Tpu shore 60a, which is no problem for my bondtech lgx modded mk3s.
I‘m using the XL mostly for printing machine parts.

Nice thanks for the post, have you tried other SS support materials?
Did you get the .4mm nozzles with your printer or .6? I just got shipping confirmation mine is on the way and is now shipping with the .4mm nozzles off the shelf.
