XL waiting for temperature between tool changes too often?

I am using firmware 5.1.0 and Prusa slicer 2.7.1 and try to print a 2 color Benchy. It worked well but tool changer was strangely waiting between many, not all, changes. It dropped off one tool and was waiting to pick up the other. Few (1 - 5) secs doing nothing. It looked like it is waiting for temperature. I assume that it is because of Oozee prevention tries to drop the temperature and then heating up takes more then expected and tool changer wait. Does anyone experienced the same behavior? I haven't investigated it yet. I am I right?

Short answer: yes.  You can increase the idle temp and the ooze prevention dropoff somewhat to make it keep the heads a little hotter.  It does apply some intelligence and starts heating the next head while the current one is finishing, but with a small layer, it just doesn't have enough time.  With a print where each color has more print time, the swapping is instant, as the idle head has had time to get up to temp.

There's an option to display the temperatures of the tools. I find it provides good situational awareness as to what's going on with the XL. It's in the settings.

Yes, you can turn on a very tiny bar chart that shows along the bottom. Be sure to have a magnifier close by!

It's not a bar chart. The far right spot can hold the temperature for all tools. It cycles on about a two second cycle. It shows like T1:250C

I find this very useful.

Look again. Go into the ui panel. You can turn on a bunch of things that show along the bottom, one of which is a bar chart for all five extruder temps. It’s tiny but it very useful as is the icon of the very tiny array of active heaters in the bed.

Thanks guys, I new about the temperature option. However, it would be better to see them all at once but it works. In my case waiting was just about secs so the rotating temp didn't really help. However I made the investigation. It wasn't the temp, printing length was very short, shorter then minimum time per layer AKA coolingTreshold in filament settings, so it was waiting.
