Unprogrammed filament change?

So, my two head XL is built and calibrated. Prints one extruder pretty well. But when printing with both extruders about 1/4 in to the print extruder #1 stops for a filament change. If I try to remove and replace filament it seems to hang. If I turn off the printer and restart it recovers and starts printing again. Have tried reslicing with even slightly different parameters and it keeps it up.

Ideas?

Try recalibrating the filament sensor and if that fails, clean up the filament sensor.

i had that (but stopped having it after doing the mod replacing the spring inside the sensor with a magnet)

I'd also suggest to have a look on the side filament sensor. The printer thinks that there is no filament if triggered and asks for a filament change.

I had the same issue with the left one. Cleaned it up and it was ok. But later the values comming from that sensor didn't make sense. It was replaced by Prusa under warranty. No more issues since then.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

The easiest-to-check possibility is a loose or dirty connection - unplug and replug the sensor cable a couple of times.
