I received the Duel head XL a few weeks ago. I have been printing some proto prints and so far so good. I am about to build a enclosure in the near future to print ASA. I have been printing with DLP printers for the past 10 years and needed a bigger print platform. So far so good!!!

Ok, got the email to finalize my order now, dual head semi assembled, but I want 5 head..
I had to ask in the chat, and they say that change to 5 head will be available end august, wonder why they can't write any timeline in shipping info or the email?

For what it's worth, the last time I contacted Prusa to ask about converting my 2 head semi assembled to a 5 head fully assembled I was told "2 weeks". I rated the chat a thumbs up, but made a comment on how I was disappointed that I could not convert mine even though all the conditions laid out were met.
I woke up this morning to an email from support telling me that the conversion process was available to the 5 head. I contacted chat this afternoon, they converted my order, and I just paid for it.
Now the final wait starts.

i just had a chat with prusa.
there is no option to convert to 5 head. they can't do it and they told me that nobody was converted from 1/2 semi to 5 head semi yet.
i should try again end of August.
And they deliver only to people that choose 5 head from the start.
Even if i have my "your order is ready" mail - i have to wait for the people that choose 5 head from the begining.
Time Stamp of the order is not important. only after the orders of the 5 head are done the timestamp comes into play.

I have built my mk3 and mk4 kits, and it's nice to know how they are built, wish it was complete kit of XL also, but I guess that would be a shore..

The build was a breeze. I would say set aside 4-6 hours.

if you ordered in the first second and other recive their printer before you, because you can't change your order.
it was said right from the start that a change from 1 to 5 head will not cost you extra waiting time.

IT IS my great Honor tontell you, that in received my 5 Toolhead Version a few hours ago.bad Thing is, i'm Leaving for Holiday tomorrow, and i dont have the time to build it. Prusa told me, Last week that IT will be possible to change the Order to 5toolhead. And i was constantly refreshing the site. I'm in a similar situation. But if we were to hypothetically be given 10E back for every thing that Prusa said/promised/claimed and then didnt fulfill this past two years we probably get the 5 head half the price. i was told on the 1st of August that the option to change to 5H will be after they start shipping the 5H. Then on the 10 of the same month i was told to wait for a few more days. Today i looked at their timetable and the shipping for dual semis (my 1st day order) has started fulfiling for the 21st of November orders. When i initiated a call because i didnt get the so called email they said they will forward it to the shipping department inform me via email in a few days and that the 5th upgrade options is not there yet because they need... an update. Now surprisingly the current shipping date on Prusas site went back to 18th of November for the 2H semi. Its kinda funny how a million dollar company that prides on customer service can be so lousy at it when they are under pressure. Prusas reassurances are like F@rts. They easily come out, leave a nasty odor and the f@rter tries to hide the stink.

so i got an clarification from Prusa support.
- they first send out all the 5 head semi assembled printers with original 5h semi orders.
- when this is done, they will make it possible for others to change their order from any other model to 5 head semi.
- this can take a couple of weeks, if you are lucky september...
so they don't do it like they promissed. What you ordered has an impact on your place in line.
i have my "your Order is ready" Mail for weeks - but i waited for the week of 7.8 to change to 5 head semi. Because it was allways stated that this is possible and that i will be in line with my ordernr. / time.
Well this was a mistake.
It is like the textured sheets MK3 story. People that ordered much later got it first.
i am very dissapointed. I ordered in the first minutes - and now it seems like it could be another month before i could get the xl eventually.
As good as the products allway are, and as much i liked the prusa ecosystem. This kills all the joy in a product
