Should you order the XL?

If you are like I was, you have concerns about the reported print quality and issues such as stringing and banding. I was seriously considering not completing my XL 5 head order, especially with the high cost.

I took a leap of faith and finished my order. I can happily report that I am very pleased with the quality and ease of use of my XL.

With the latest slicer (2.7 rc2) and firmware (5.1 beta), the results are excellent.

If you are considering whether to close the deal on the XL, I highly recommend it. I have lighted the model to highlight the layer lines. They are very hard to see under normal lighting.

Here a couple of pictures of my recently completed 5 color Santa.

I will I agree, with latest slicer and firmware, it's pretty good.   I've completely disabled filament sensors on the side as they create too much drag, especially on TPU.   However, It's now to where I had hoped it would be when I got it and I expect it will get better and better.

Same experience for me. With VERY minimal threading, not even stringing, like little wispy stuff, I'm already on my 3rd multiday print. I just flashed to 5.1FW and it took my 1d5h print to 19h with IS.
