RE: Print head getting dropped in middle of print

Initially, locking needed too much force only on one of my 5-heads. The 2 locking bolts are spring-loaded by 2 o-rings. Disassembling and reassembling them thoroughly fixed it without any further change. A youtube-video Prusa XL Tool Changer Wobble Fix shows this procedure where the user had the opposite problem: too loose instead of too tight.

Please also check, whether all docks are properly set into the groove of the rear aluminum profile. Belt tension must also be set properly.

Please be aware that you should check the nozzle calibration with the nonius-pattern-print you can find on the USB-Stick. If necessary, please recalibrate the nozzles like during initial setup of the printer.

Thanks but note the calibration you mentioned is I think currently broken in alpha firmware. the part where you screw the calibration nut in.

I would not recommend installing alpha firmware.

RE: Print head getting dropped in middle of print

Hello

I was instructed by Prusa to install alpha firmware. I did also consult the Prusa help forms to learn what I was in for. The alpha forward was great. And I have since upgraded to the latest 6.0.0 RC3 firmware and will update to the released 6.0.0 when it arrives.

It actually feels like there's a ball bearing locking thing going on in there.

The cheese board's connecting rod's 'metal nipples' sit in a small detent in the middle of the sliding-lock-bars of the selector to lock the two together.
