Noctua Fans
Hi,
I was wondering what the hotend fan was like in these printers and if anyone is considering swapping them out for Noctua fans - especially as they just realised the 24v versions.

RE: Noctua Fans
So what's special about the Noctua fans? Ball bearings?
RE: Noctua Fans
They are quieter and considered high quality, but tbh there is at least a little hype involved imho. Noise isn't everything. The price to pay for quiet (assuming same fan size) is usually lower static pressure. I'm assuming PR is using fans that already have good bearings, and matched RPM to the technical requirements. Maybe you can get it quieter with a Noctua, but you'll probably remove any safety margin and might end up getting heat creep. It anyway only makes sense if the fans are the loudest component, which might not be the case in the XL.
RE:
Yeah. That.
Prusa did use them for in the Mk3 series a while back before they went to 24v.
I’m assuming they the fans they moved to were of equal quality but I don’t know that for sure so was wondering if anyone did.
RE: Noctua Fans
mk3 already was 24V...
the noctua fans a high quality, but the one's used in the xl and mk4 are at the same quality level.
the uses fans have more airflow and preasure then the noctua axial fan
there are no better radial fans in this dimension.
RE: Noctua Fans
A fan of the fan! Cool! Eww…
RE: Noctua Fans
