Lubrication of linear rails — recommendations for needles?
So I realized I was WAY behind on scheduled lubrication of the linear rails on my XL per https://help.prusa3d.com/article/regular-printer-maintenance-xl_401237. So I ordered a linear rail lubrication set from Prusa, assuming that would be the right thing. First, the syringe that's included doesn't fit on top to the tube of lube, so getting the syringe filled is, shall we say, messy.
More importantly, the needle is WAY too big to fit into the lubrication holes as per https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/how-to-lubricate-linear-bearing-rails-xl_384273
Comparing the photos with my printer, in my case the holes are not surrounded by two screws like they are in the machine the photos are showing. So I assume they must have changed things as I have one of the first XLs.
Happy to order needles on Amazon but I don't know what size. I assume it's an 18 or 20 gauge but has anyone been in this situation and has the answer ?

To answer my own questions:
I ordered the following set of syringes and needles https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YB8SYCG
The 20 gauge bent needles are perfect
I also realized that it's easier to fill the syringe from behind, after removing the plunger.

RE:
I don’t own a Prusa XL, but on my Vorons, after the printer has been assembled I perform scheduled lubrications (once a year or so) using white lithium grease on spray, instead of the usual product on tube. The nozzle of the can is provided with an accessory thin plastic tube so you can apply the grease with reasonably accuracy. IMHO, those little side holes intended to lubricate the rail are worthless. Too small for allowing thick lubricant to enter inside. Proper lubrication must be done before the rail is mounted on the extrusion, using regular grease. See photo below.
Of course, once the printer is assembled that’s not possible. So I use grease on spray, aiming the tube of the can towards the internal channels where the balls of the rail slide on. Sprayed lubricant penetrates much better inside the rail than the thicker product from a tube.
