Fan RPM Test Fail
Hi, I just updated to the new input shaper download and ran the testing procedures again and now I am getting the RPM Test failure. The fans are spinning but this test is failing. I unplugged the heads and ran it again and it seems to continue to fail. Anyone experience this or any idea where to go from here?

Hi RGB
Have you received any reply from them on this yet?
RE: Fan RPM Test Fail
Had the exact problem after flashing to 5.1.2 and used the chat support. The solution was to loosen the single screw that secures the printing fan cover. Loosen or even remove it completely so that the test passes. Once the test passes, you may secure the screw again. Support said that it is a known issue that will be addressed in a subsequent firmware update.
RE: Fan RPM Test Fail
Thank you for your input. The fan actually comes on but it does not see speed is this still related to what you are talking about?
RE: Fan RPM Test Fail
Yes it is. I was puzzled as well because all I did was update the firmware. If you’re doubtful, hit the chat support and see what they say.
RE: Fan RPM Test Fail
I thank you for the help. Makes me feel a bit better. It does seem like the same time I updated the software. I've actually been sitting on hold in the live chat with them for the last hour and its been stuck on queues are around 6 minutes for the past 30 minutes HAHAHA. I am printing now and watching in Prusa Connect and it is actually recording print fan speed, so you have to be correct. I guess its not a problem it just tries to make you finish testing before each print but you can cancel out of that so I will just keep going.
Thanks again for the update.

Hi Rufus, Hi REIFY 3D,
Voici la réponse que j'ai reçue mardi du SAV PRUSA
Here is the response I received on Tuesday from PRUSA after-sales service
Hello Robert.
I am sorry about the issue that occurred to you. If everything is running correctly, it appears as a small bug in a FW. It may also happen that it will pass after a few attempts. If the print starts and continues without any given error, you can keep on printing, it should be all ok.
Thank you for the report, I will pass it on.If anything occurs, don't hesitate to reach out to us again!
Kind regards,

RE: Fan RPM Test Fail
Hello Rufus,
I had the same problem. After the new firmware update, I did a speed test of the fans again and I couldn't get the speed of one fan (I repeated the test 5 times). It sounds strange, but during the last test I took the extruder out of the dock and simply blew into the fan during the speed test to support it. It took quite a long time and I almost ran out of air, but I was successful and apparently got the required speed and passed the test.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you
RE: Fan RPM Test Fail
Well you were correct. I loosened the fan housing and for some strange reason it passed BUT now the filament sensor is failing. Unbelievable. All I did was to loosen the fan housing on the opposite side of the head. I have also noticed that this has crashed a few times since this new software install. Anyone else see these issues??
