Changing filament at run-time with XL five head printer?

On my Prusa i3MK3S MMU2 there was a printer profile called SINGLE. It allowed you to select which of the five filaments you used to print at run-time. Is there a way to do this on the XL five head? It's a pain to have to go back and re-slice and re-copy file to USB drive just to print something in a different color.

good question.   Not that I've seen.  might be a good feature request.  I think this was all accomplished in gcode for the MK3 + MMU, so it should be possible for prusa to implement.  When I've wanted to do this recently to test the idler tension in each of the 5 extruders while printing ninjaflex, I sliced sliced a version of the model for each extruder and then named them something like ninjaflex_benchy_e1, e2, etc.    I then uploaded them all and just chose the e1, e2, etc

One of the steps to go through when starting a print through the LCD is called Tool Mapping. You can choose to change the tool you want to use for the print at this point by scrolling farther left than you think you can go. This is also how to setup tools for the Spool Join feature.

nice, if I ever enable my filament sensors again I'll definitely look into that.

I'd get on with support to fix your hardware issues.

A nominal printer will let you swap tools to whichever else you'd like even if its the wrong nozzles size or filament type. It will prompt you with an "are you sure you want to mess up your print?" but it won't stop you from doing wrong things.

Yah… the latest fw sux. I’m getting really disappointed with Prusa.
