BVOH supports using the 2nd Extruder for PLA prints

Hello All,

I just thought I would note my experiences here as I have finally managed to get soluble supports working well with my XL after a decent number of tries. I am using the Verbatim BVOH filament from the Prusa website and Prusa's Prusament PLA (Galaxy Black). I have the official enclosure (lid lifted) and a fan blowing on the setup as my workshop is warm!

I began by using the instructions here https://help.prusa3d.com/article/support-settings-for-the-xl_681927 but using the '0.20mm soluble full' option as I don't have 0.25 option on mine. I put the support material on extruder 2 and added BVOH via the filaments list to extruder 2 (shame its not on the printer itself).

I also used the 210 degrees first layer suggested here https://www.reddit.com/r/prusa3d/comments/16z1com/prusa_xl_bvoh_2nd_extruder/

All this was done on a Satin sheet cleaned with isopropyl alcohol only.

Really pleased with the results. I normally use the textured plate for Prusament PLA and PETG but the supports would just not stick for me.

Hope this might help someone struggling like I was (at least to show its possible 🙂 ).

Very Best

Chris
