RE:
Update 24th September 2023: We are manufacturing our 3D printers in the EU and we are also looking for as many European and US-based component suppliers as possible. This effort can sometimes be challenging. Due to a current outage at some of our suppliers, we are now shipping more 1-toolhead and 2-toolhead printers. 5-toolhead printers are the most production-intensive and, therefore, most affected by this issue. However, we are still trying to ship as many units as possible. We expect the supply situation to improve in the first half of October.
RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
I'm jealous
"What is this email you all speak about?? The one one that states your order is ready for processing."
I believe so, I received the email on 8/31 (was a 11/18/21 preorder). Subj of the email was "Your PRUSA XL preorder is almost ready....... Please make the supplementary payment."
RE:
so my 5 head semi should ship on monday.
i ordered a 1 head semi in the first minutes... and later changed to 5 head semi.
guess it should arrive end of next Week.
RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
Thats a bit strange. If you ordered the first minute and you just got your ordered shipped now, then the past few weeks to who were they sending the 5h semi? Because even if you ordered a single head and changed it later, your place in the queue shouldn't change. Of course Prusa lost credibility on what they promise and claim before their XL's started shipping.

RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
Well its not like this...
i didn't have the chance to change my order because they did not let people do this.
so all the people the initially order 5 head semi got their chance first..
it seems like once you have paid for it, you get your place in the right order. but they did block the option to change and pay for 2 month.

i know because i'm a first day order and i was able to change my order on Sep 18. My point is that all these claims from Prusa that "your place in the queue is preserved" is BS.

RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
What I have seen so far in the reviews of the multihead XLs is, that the bigger power supply and the additional printheads are the only difference.
According to Prusa, there seems to be a shortage of parts for the printhead. Why do they not ship the 5 head semi orders with fewer heads and supply the remaining heads later? I think da single head or dual head XL is better than none.
RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
There's also an extra splitter board to connect the extra toolheads to.
@jeggo You're still waiting too?

RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
I'm not sure that this is the best approach. It would add to confusion. When is the later.. a year.. six months? Why pay again money to place my self in a new abstract queue for a part of the product? Why should i do this when i was reassured the day of the preorder that i could add heads later with no additional time penalty? The point with the additional printheads for me is seems again as an excuse. Prusa is sending single heads for orders a year later and dual heads for half a year later. If thats the excuse then if they would focus the printhead production of theses orders to the first day, then the problem would be smaller. It doesnt make sense to claim component unavailability and use these components on orders one year later. I know is more profitable to send 5 dual heads instead of 2 5h but after so many delays and lousy excuses you should prioritize on your promises on the first day orders. Prusa for me is just trying to maximise the income of an already delayed product. Now this is normal for any company , but what distinguishes a company taht actually respects customers from Prusa now is that if you have your customers waiting for a year you prioritize fulfilling your promises even if that profit comes a bit later. I thing prusa didnt yet realised how many customers are drifting away. I paid for my 5h semi and ill wait for it but what kept me with the XL was the toolchanger. Next time i upgrade my printers i'll personally look elsewhere. I dont care if it is open source , closed, chinese , us or european. I want to pay and get my product on the promised timeframe without feeling like an idiot. Prusa's "quality name premium tax" doesn't worth much lately.

RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
I ordered two fully-assembled 5-head XLs on launch day within a few minutes of announcement. When the MK4 was announced and they said XL pre-orders could switch to the MK4 with priority shipping, I made the mistake of taking them up on the offer and making the switch on one of my XL orders. After waiting 12 weeks and still getting the "should ship soon" from chat support I just cancelled the MK4 order. A couple months ago I attended a Prusa User Group meetup where I was able to see the XL in person. The thing is so big for not such a large build volume. Seriously, it is like 3.5 feet tall at least with all of the tubes at the top. I really do not understand how we are supposed to enclose this thing and still have it in a normal workspace. And it was printing really slowly too. I finished building a Voron 2.4 350mm and honestly, even though it is only one head, I am already getting beautiful results with ABS and ASA that I decided to cancel my other 5-head XL order too. I just can't fathom waiting 2 years for this product that in the end performs slowly, requires so much more space, and is priced at $4000 not including shipping and import taxes. So the waitlist just got one person shorter 😆
RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
Input-shaping will speed it up significantly. IS is already deployed for MK4 & Mini, giving a huge boost in print speed & improved print quality. As far as size, I don't know how you expect them to squeeze that build-volume, the multi-head mechanisms, & filament storage & routing into a smaller package without sacrificing frame stability. There are already some enclosure designs coming out. But, yes, it takes some significant space. I already have my space marked out.

RE:
My pre-order confirmation email for my 5-tool semi assembled arrived at 4:13 pm GMT Thursday, November 18 2021. I thought I was pretty quick to get in line. I have not yet heard anything about my order being fulfilled.
- If anybody has received their 5-tool semi-assembled already, what time did your initial order confirmation email arrive?
- Is it true that people who ordered later than this, and then changed their order to a 5-tool semi assembled recently, are getting their orders fulfilled earlier than those who initially ordered the 5-tool semi-assembled?
I'd appreciate knowing a ballpark of when I can expect the printer to ship, as I keep getting my hopes up. Hopefully by knowing where they are in the queue can tell me if that's on the scale of months or years. I don't know if there are tens, hundreds, or thousands of orders in line ahead of me.
RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
I was able to convert my 2 head semi assembled order to a 5 head semi assembled last nite. ......
Added $1022 to the cost. Was worried shipping was going to increase more. US customer.
I received a DHL tracking number today, though DHL is not reporting having my 5 head semi assembled yet
Order history
11/18/21 Submitted preorder for 2 head semi-assembled
8/31/23 Received email to finalize my order, "Your PRUSA XL preorder is almost ready....... Please make the supplementary payment." Asked Prusa CS if I could convert to 5 head semiassembled, was told in a week or two.
9/14/23 Got tired of waiting, went ahead and finalized my order for a 2 head semi assembled. Submitted payment.
9/19/23 Noticed I could convert my order to a 5 head semi - assembled. Converted my order and submitted additonal payment.
9/21/23. Received notification that the XL smooth PEI print sheet was back in stock. Added it to my order
10/2/23: Received notification from Prusa and DHL of tracking number assigned, and Prusa says my order has been packed.
RE:
My preorder confirmation was US 12:47 PM EST Nov 18, 2021. (I think that is) 5:47 PM GMT.... Mine is apparently shipping now,
I think its just clean living on my part that mine is shipping sooner.. but I guess my order also fits with your "convert from 2 to 5 head semi assembled order theory".

RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
- I orderd on 18.November 2021 15:15 (1 Head semi) Order Nr. is about 1637248500 +/- 🙂
- the "your order is ready" mail came on 29. june 2023
- I was able to switch from 1 to 5 head on 18. september (until then it was not possible), paid the same day
- The Trackingnr. was generated on 27. september
- The package was collected today by DHL
- Time of delivery should be 5. Oktober
RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
OK, my order number is 16372452XX. I think this is the only really relevant number. I can understand that people don’t want to reveal their order number, but frankly, the last three digits are not that Important- a few minutes at most. Just anonymize the last few digits.
Epochconverter.com
So my order is 2:20pm ish. 5 head semi. Last week they said it would be weeks before my order would ‘switch’.
Sounds like I’m getting screwed…

RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
Have you checked to see if you can switch now? I had heard the same from CS, but when i checked on Sept 19th, I had the option to switch from 2 to 5 head semi assembled.
Last week they said it would be weeks before my order would ‘switch’.
RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
The ‘switch’ is not from 1 to 5 heads, but ‘switch’ is what Prusa calls the change from a pre-order to an actual order. Confirm or convert- complete even would be a better word in English.
RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
Got my order confirmation on 20.11.2021 at 09:17 for a 5 Head Semi.
Order number is 16373962xx
Seems that the order number is a usual number of the Prusa ordering system. So normal orders as Prusament or spare parts get also a number out of this system.
So it would be nice to start a new thread with the ordering data like this:
Confirmation date: 20.11.2021
Type: 5H Semi
Order no.: 16373962XX
Payment date: -
Delivery date: -
I do not assume, that I will get my XL this year .
RE: 5 head semi/assembled shipping window?
The System seems to be like this :
1. You have to get the mail "your order is almost ready "
2. You can convert or just pay
3. When the order is paid full, you are put in place with your order nr. ( with all others that have paid)
If you wanted 5 head semi, you could not switch until 19th September. So people who had this option from the start had a 2 month head up.
