XL 2t printing issue

What is this?  What causes this and how do I correct?  Is this stringing?  Nozzles are .6 mm and filament is the Prusament PLA delivered with printer.

Hey

Unfortunately, right now it's just guesswork.

  • What does the object look like “normally”?
  • How thick is your first layer?
  • Have you cleaned the print bed?
  • Is your nozzle really clean during bed leveling?

Thanks for your reply.  I am new to this so I am definitely still learning.  The problem really developed on the 1st layer where I do not believe it adhered to the print plate and was pulled up as the nozzle moved away.

  1. This is a label for a hydroponic garden I got from printable and modified the size slightly.  See below.
  2. The 1st layer was .2 mm thick.  Subsequent layers are also .2 mm thick.
  3. I cleaned the print bed with IPA before printing
  4.  The nozzle appeared to be clean but it may not have been.

.

Since originally posting I have now had my Prusament PLA filament in my dehydrator at 40C for approximately 8 hours.  Nozzle temp on 1st layer was 230F and on subsequent layers 225F.  I plan on lowering these temps to 215F and 210F respectively.  What do you think?

I suspect the part is not well designed for 3D printing - however: save your project as a .3mf file

Files > Save Project as

Zip the .3mf and post it here. It will contain both your part and your settings for us to diagnose.

IPA is not enough sometimes. Clean the bed with warm water and dish soap, dry it thoroughly and try again. Also satin sheet is not the best with PLA. Get a smooth PEI sheet.

I would use the 0.4mm nozzle and reduce the first layer to 0.15mm or less. With such a small surface area, the first layer needs to adhere really well to the bed. I would also reduce the speed again if it’s going too fast.
