RE: Why the unnecessary waits before printing?…

Do you have the option to put a color scale on those thermal images? The spot temperature alone isn't too helpful.

It would be useful to know if that blue was 180F or 100F, for instance.

RE: Why the unnecessary waits before printing?…

I have a new XL and am also slightly irritated about the partial long waiting time of about 10 minutes for smaller prints on the left front side. On the display it says this "absorbing heat".

Now, I had a chat with Prusa Support and they guided me to the explanation of it here on the Prusa Blog: https://blog.prusa3d.com/original-prusa-xl-now-shipping_75721/. The explanation is:

"Differences in temperatures (heatbed vs carriage vs print sheet), heat dissipation, and transfer can also affect the initial Mesh Bed Levelling. We added an “Absorbing heat” function to MBL that waits until the heat from the heatbed is at least partially transferred to other parts, and only then the Nextruder performs the MBL procedure to achieve a perfect first layer."

Ok, I understand. However still annoying... But I have tried on the Printer's Display the option "Skip" which acutally skips this "absorbing heat" time. That helps, even though, I'd like to have an option to override already e.g. via a PrusaSlicer setting  (maybe already there but I have not seen it yet).
