Prusa XL – Rough Top Layer Lines in Specific Bed Areas (Possible Vibrations?)
Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing a strange surface issue on my Prusa XL and wanted to ask if anyone has seen something similar before.
The problem started after I replaced all cable splitter–dwarf cables. After that, the printer was fully recalibrated. Since then, I’m getting rough / uneven lines on the top layer, and they usually appear at the same locations.
It does not look like under-extrusion. It feels more like vibrations or some kind of mechanical interaction. What’s interesting is that the issue:
mainly appears in the front third of the print bed
is more noticeable on the left side
does not appear at the back of the bed at all
Side walls look fine; the issue is only visible on the top layers.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue or has ideas where to look next (mechanics, belts, motion system, bed, etc.)?
