I’ve not seen a layer shift, yet. But my guess is that one can easily get a blob dropped on to the tool path which a nozzle crashes into. I have had that happen once. When it happened the load cell activated a crash and it went into a crash state waiting for me to fix it. Which I did, but it would not resume, that’s a fw issue. Not being able to reregister X and y homes are likely the result of not using physical limit switches. Using motor amperage to detect a limit is not accurate enough. My E3d tc originally did it with motor amperage, but the in accuracy drove me to add physical limit switches.
PETG blobs are a problem on all 3d printers. You can’t actually operate completely unmonitored with PETG… for that matter you really can’t operate a toolchanger completely unmonitored.
