RE: Assembly issue with ground wire in the way of XL splitter board
If that is the ground wire from the LCD, it should be connected to that terminal marked PE
Was it assembled or semi-assembled printer?
RE: Assembly issue with ground wire in the way of XL splitter board
This was on a semi-assembled printer, that wire in the picture is pre-existing by the factory, not sure where it goes to - but it is NOT the LCD one. The reason I found this is because the instructions ask you to pop the board out/forward, in order to connect the LCD ground wire you ran up the side extrusion to the PE terminal (seen hiding behind the red and black power wires).
Nothing is broken/all is well - and it doesn't bother me that the wire was squished, more-so that it's location there prevents the board from seating all the way back in the edge (PCI?) connector. This is a factory assembly issue in my opinion, they need to verify the wire is tucked behind what appears to be a plastic end-stop and not in-front of it when the board is installed.
RE: Assembly issue with ground wire in the way of XL splitter board
Just took a look on my 2-tool XL and the only ground wire there was, other than the LCD one, comes behind the mainboard and is terminated on the lower right corner of the mainboard, don't know if the 5-tool version has extra groundwires.
But yeah, that's definitely a factory quality control issue.
