OPXL5H Enclosure

I installed the new enclosure for the OPXL5H and had some issues with the Enclosure menu and fan. Tech support sent a new splitter board and now I'm able to open the 'Enclosure' menu in Control.

Potential issues

  1. With the first splitter board the fan ran continuously at top speed all the time. With the replacement board the fan runs continuously, but at a slower speed
  2. I don't find an item in the Control/Enclosure menu to turn the fan off/on, just a fan rotation adjustment from 50% to 100%, which doesn't seem to do anything
  3. I don't find anything in the current Prusa Slicer settings for heat/fan management

Questions

  1. Does anyone have or know of documentation for the new OPXL enclosure?
  2. What is the expected behavior of the fan?
  3. Does anyone know if Prusa Slicer can manage the new enclosure operation?

RE: OPXL5H Enclosure

What I learned so far

  1. OPXL Enclosure management: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/releases/tag/v6.0.2
  2. The fan should not be running continuously, tech support is trying to determine why
  3. In Prusa Slicer you can manage the enclosure temp on the Filaments tab

RE: OPXL5H Enclosure

It sounds like the fan issue with the OPXL enclosure is ongoing, and it should not run continuously. It’s good to know that you can manage the enclosure temperature in Prusa Slicer’s Filaments tab. Hopefully, tech support will resolve the fan speed issue soon.

RE: OPXL5H Enclosure

Fixed: It appears the sandwich board was responsible for the fan issues. With a replacement sandwich board the fan now performs as expected.

Notes

  1. On powerup after sandwich board replacement the Enclosure is toggled off
  2. When Enclosure is toggled on, the fan goes through a brief diagnostic spin up, then turns off
  3. During printing I toggled 'print filtration' on and the fan spun up to 1.8k/minute (screenshot attached)
  4. Prior to fix the fan was spinning at full speed, very loud. Now, with print filtration, I can barely hear the fan. with the Enclosure the whole OPXL5H is very, very quiet during print jobs
