SL1: (not S!) Is the calibration print function working?!

So I just tried the calibration print out of curiosity with a known resin (Tough Antrhazit).

Selected the 0.05 modell, checked it was going from 5.0 to 12.0 an printed. The layer time was about the 12 seconds as expected.

However... ALL pieces cam out great, from 5.0 to 12.0 they look identically. So I wonder... I don't want to print again I can't belive that 5.0s would work in real objects, Prusaslicer uses 7s for it. And 12.0 should show some overcuring?!

Best,

Carsten

I wouldn't find it too strange as 5-12s is still in the "normal" range for most available resins. For lower times, I would expect incomplete prints.

For me, the calibration tool worked quite well. Depending on the resin, differences can be quite minute and visible on small details only. For some resins and exposure times below 3s, there were parts missing; for longer times, overprinting could be seen, but to a lesser degree than expected (for example at shallow hexagons or on the inside of tubes). I haven't worked with your specific resin, but I don't think, that the calibration method didn't work.

Ok. Maybe I try lower values. I even put the pieces under a bino (stereo?) microscope and... I can't spot anything.

Prusament Resin Tough Anthracite Grey is 7s in prusa slicer and Sandstone Tough is 5s. I would not mind 30% less layer time, as the anthracite grey seems to print so well with 5s... But maybe it is too soft then to print objects with higher layer peeling forces...

Best,

Carsten

I checked again. I looked more at failed things which obviously don't happen in that time range.

I looked then at the small hexagons and the parallel lines on the back and can see some (slightly) undercuring there for 5.0s and overcuring for 12s. So it did work.

C!
