Prusa Slicer and objects orientation

Hello, waiting the arrival of my SL1 (i suppose still quite a while) I am practicing using Prusa Slicer for resin prints...

My first question, this is the program that all of you are using for slicing with SL1?

Second question is about the object orientation, I believed that i will find something like an automatic object orientation to get the best one,  but it seems to me it must be done manually, is it right? If yes where to learn what is the best orientation for resin prints?

Thank you

RE: Prusa Slicer and objects orientation

PrusaSlicer is the program to use.  You may also need Meshmixer to hollow large prints before importing into PrusaSlicer.

There is an orient function in PrusaSlicer, but manual is best.  Orientation is different from what you would do with the MK3.  For example, you do not want there to be any flat surfaces parallel to the build plate; they create a large amount of suction and can cause the print to fail.  Make sure no areas start printing mid-air; PrusaSlicer does not always automatically place supports everywhere that is needed yet.

I think most people on this forum will be like me; just getting their SL1 as their first resin printer.  You are likely to find tutorials for general strategies such as optimum orientation in forums etc. for competing products like the Anycubic Photon, at least for now.
