Problem with Resin sensor (solved)
Hi,
I had some issues with the resin sensor not functioning correctly anymore. After some fiddling around and help from prusa we figured out the issue. I thought I'd share what happened in case anyone else runs into the same issue.
Everytime the platform moved down to start measuring the resin it would stop before it reached the resin and complain about the tank being overfilled or give a more generic resin sensor error. This prevented me from printing.
A few days before it started acting up I had a resin spill which I thought I'd cleaned up. Immediately after, nothing changed so it took me a while to see the connection. When looking in the info screen I could see the sensor would show intermittent on/off behaviour. After seeing this I decided to take it apart. As it turns out some resin had leaked into the hinges that allow the tank to move. These have plastic spacer which I believe is to prevent electrical current going through. The resin conducts electricity causing the issue.
The solution was to clean the inside thoroughly using some IPA. It's back to normal operation now.
Hope this helps anyone running into the same issue.
