power panic not working?

This is my first prusa product, but from what i understand, power panic should allow the printer to just resume a print after losing power. I was printing something small, so a short print, and the power flickered on and off a few times, and the printer stayed off. I assumed first that upon turning it on it would resume, and when that didn't happen, that going to the print file in question would trigger something, but I've seen nothing explicitly stating that it will resume the print.

I'm wondering if this feature works, and if so, how it looks when it does? Is it actually automatic, and does it indicate anything if it's not? I really don't want to try resuming my print if its just going to crash itself into the film, making what i imagine would be a very unpleasant mess. I was also wondering if this was caused by the power flickering, although i really just want to know if this feature works in general.
