How to adjust the number of initial layers (bottom layers) for SL1S?

Hello,

I am using the SL1S printer.

I was trying to tweak the settings of the bottom players (called initial layers in PrusaSlicer).

https://ameralabs.com/blog/default-3d-printing-raft-settings/

But as shown in the first figure, it seems like there is only one bottom layer?  Lets say the normal layer height is 0.05mm, and the initial layer height is now set to be 0.1mm. Does it mean we have two initial layers, each with a thickness of 0.05mm? or does it mean we have only one initial layer, with a thickness of 0.1mm?

Also, does the initial exposure time apply to each one of the initial layers? Or does it apply to  all the initial layers as a whole?

I googled a lot and didnt find explanation on this topic. Hope you can help me out. Thank you very much in advance.

PrusaSlicer uses the same layer height for all layers. Including initial layers.

The slicer does linearly reduce the exposure time from the initial to normal. In the printer settings, you can find "faded layers". This is similar to the bottom layer count.

If you are asking for more raft layers, that should be "Pad wall thickness".

Thank you for this very informative and specific answer.

If the "initial layer height" is set to be 0.1mm and the normal layer height is kept as 0.05mm, does it mean we have two initial layers?

Regarding the "initial exposure time", if it is set to be 25 seconds, are the two initial layers each exposed for 25s or in total exposed for 25s?

RE:

I'm not sure, but AFAIK that "initial layer height" is just the first layer. I usually set it to the same height as the other ones. But you can use it to compensate for uneven build plates or FEPs.

From the descriptions, I do understand it this way:

If you have an initial layer of 0.1, a layer height of 0.5, an initial exposure time of 25 and an exposure time of 2.1 using 5 faded layers, the resulting times will be as follows.

layer  layer height  exposure time
1 0.1 25
2 0.05 20.42
3 0.05 15.84
4 0.05 11.26
5 0.05 6.68
6 0.05 2.1
7 0.05 2.1

I have tested it, only after the number of layers set at faded layers is the exposure slowly reduced. I am not sure if this is a bug.

I have the same observation.
