Third Party Resins
Has anyone experimented with Anycubic & Elegoo brand resins? Whilst I like the Prusa brand, when I require a bottle of resin next day, with free delivery, Prusa can't compete. I usually save up my consumables orders until I have a bulk requirement, but for stuff I need in a hurry to fulfil customer orders I use Amazon.
The Elegoo/Anycubic stuff works a treat on my Elegoo Mars, and the Prusa stuff works like a dream on my SL1, but I'm struggling to get a good print on the SL1 with the Elegoo/Anycubic stuff, and there are no profiles in Prusa Slicer for it. I have tried mirroring the cure settings I have in Chitubox, which logically should work, but don't.
Anyone have any findings on this?

Hello,
I tried Monocure resin and it was working without issue.
Now with the new firmware you can easily test any resin to figure out the correct exposure time.
So feel free to try 😉

elegoo also comes with water washable resin. Would be great if that works.

Water washable is interesting, but it does not means it is eco friendly.
This is the actual issue with resin printers, what to do with polluted resin and IPA or other fluids??

Yes fully agree. The water washable would skip the IPA. It should be treated carefully though. With IPA you can vapour the IPA. The remaining resin could be cured and put in the plastic waste bin. How to deal with residues in the water I do not know yet. It is more difficult to vapour the water to isolate the resin residue.
We are in the beginning so I hope we can make some "how to process the waste" instructions to keep our environment as clean as possible.

I m curious if anyone is buying siraya tech resins?
Their resins are best quality/price ratio (untill you import them in Europe, or buy from resellers). Its only available to buy via AmazonUS now...

I really like Siraya Tech Blu. It really prints well, looks nice and is reasonably priced from Amazon US. It is a little viscous and they recommend printing above 25C, but I use a home made heater that works very well inside the SL1 print chamber. I do use a longer first layer curing time (60 sec. I think) and I am not sure of the time for other layers. I used the calibration print to determine the time.
