Rear fan speed

I've finished the SL1 kit and had a few successful prints. Yay!

I did notice that the ear fan seemed to be running fairly slow.  So, I've started turning up the speed from the default 1000.

Is there a speed that everyone uses to help reduce the oder?

RE: Rear fan speed

I let it run at maximum RPM possible all the time.

@david-t2

Thanks!  I'll start to do the same.

RE: Rear fan speed

Although it helps, it is not enough anyway. I need to use an air purifier to completely eliminate the smell.

Same here. I routed the back fan output (at 5000RPM) to outside with a pipe but the smell remains, specially when starting a print. I believe the other fans also expel some odor, so i put an air purifier at the right side of the printer, inclined 45 degrees and at full power, so it absorbs all the air near the printer. This has helped reducing the smell except very close to the printer.

RE: Rear fan speed

1000, 5000? Wouldn’t it be better if the fan speed followed that of the cooling fan on the MK3, zero to 255? That would make much more sense to me and I fairly sure I don’t need that level of precision for a fan.
