Pre-owned SL1/CW1

I'm looking at a preowned combo of the SL1/CW1 (this will be my first foray into 3d printing).  They are in the original packaging but have been used (supposedly no more than 12 hours total time).  Seller is asking $900USD for both.

Worth the gamble?  Anything to look for as red flags?  They are supposedly just over a year old...

Thanks!

I'd offer much less, especially if there is no warranty left.  Prusa is making a a new, better version of the SL1, presumably with bigger work envelope and a mono screen that will give way more screen lifetime and print faster than the current SL1.  The competition is selling mono, larger format MSLA printers for less than half of that guy's asking price, though the CW1 does add some value.  Just MHO.

Just be careful.  You never can tell whether they are telling the truth or lying through their teeth.  If it's in such good condition ask yourself why are they offering it for so little compared to the RRP? Are they local to you so you can go and see it working before buying?

Personally wouldn't fork out $900 without seeing it print.

This price is a red flag for me. It's way too low. There must be some kind of hook to it.

Thanks for the input...I decided to pass on the deal.  I'm pretty certain that it was good gear, but for the price, I can get another brand (Elegoo Saturn) with cure/wash unit for less money (and a warranty).

I LOVE the Prusa setup, but for a first printer to learn on, just a bit pricey for me new.

Thanks again to the group!!!

Actually, sadly, $900 seems to be the going rate for a used SL1/CW1. I looked into selling mine as I'd rather just put that $2k PITA behind me, but I can't swallow losing $1100.

As much as I would like to see the resale price go up so I can justify ditching this thing (honestly it does print great now, I'm just not sure I'll ever see it as more than the pain it took to get here), I too would not recommend buying a SL1 new or used. For that same $900 you can get a much more up to date and capable machine. For the cost of a new one you can get a solid large format SLA printer.
